Grant Process

Purpose

Title III funds under the Older Americans Act are allocated to encourage and assist agencies to concentrate resources in order to develop greater capacity and foster the development and implementation of comprehensive and coordinated systems to serve older individuals to:

  • Secure and maintain maximum independence and dignity in a home environment;
  • Remove individual and social barriers to economic and personal independence;
  • Provide a continuum of care for vulnerable older individuals, and
  • Secure the opportunity for older individuals to receive managed in-home and community-based long-term care services.

Grant year is from October 1st to September 30th

Time Schedule

  • January 2nd – Request for Proposal available.
  • January – March – Technical Assistance provided by Senior Resources.
  • January 25th – Technical Assistance Meeting. Bring downloaded instructions, application,
    and reference material.
  • February 15th – Draft application due to Senior Resources by 3 p.m.
  • March 28th – Complete final application due to Senior Resources by 3 p.m.
  • June 5th, 12th, and 19th –Application presentation to the Board of Directors of Senior Resources.
  • June 26th –Allocations made by the Board of Directors.
  • July –Letters sent to each applicant regarding funding levels.
  • September 5th –Grantee Orientation at Senior Resources
  • October 1st – New grant year begins
